The savvy owners of this home managed a $120,000 remodel for $35,000. Here’s how: 1. Patience. They waited for excess Oceanside waterjet-cut tile to come available from another project. 2. Persistence. They found a suite of Thermador floor models. 3. Passion. They splurged on the Florida quartzite. That stuff ain’t cheap. All parts helped to complete the contemporary look anchored by the wenge cabinetry. This cabinet set was repurposed from a condo overlooking the San Diego Yacht Club (see last photo). After a little design work and modification they are now in their forever home in San Marcos.
